Susan Bogardus

Susan joined the BankSouth team as Watkinsville’s Market President in March of 2023 and has hit the ground running ever since. She has lived and worked in the Watkinsville and Athens banking community for over 30 years. Over this time, she has helped her customers plan, develop, and execute their financial plans to reach their full potential.

Susan is active in several civic and commumnity organizations, including Athens Technical College Foundation, Georgia Innovation Joint Corridor Development Authority, and Center for Housing and Community Development.

Before Susan joined the BankSouth family, she held several senior commercial banking and lending positions at both national and local banks located in the Athens/Watkinsville area. Susan is also a proud bulldog as she is a graduate of the University of Georgia where is also a frequent guest lecturer. In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on the Dawgs!

Fun facts about Susan: she was an Athena nominee in 2011 and 2021, and she she participated in Dancing with the Athens Stars to benefit Project Safe.
